DBCF Programs

Foundation Programs

The Discovery Bay Foundation is comprised of many forward thinking volunteers and committees who are passionate about improvements and enhancements in Discovery Bay. We fund programs that support our community needs, such as investing in a skate board park, water recreation safety, teen outreach activities, neighborhood watch program, aquatic weed control and more.

We are currently focusing our discretionary grantmaking on a limited number of programs and organizations for the next two years; teen and youth outreach and water and safety programs. As the Discovery Bay Community Foundation continues to grow, we will add programs that are of benefit and value to our community. In addition, we welcome donations specific to a program or an organization dear to your heart, and we will set up the fund for you.

Teen Outreach Activities

Unfortunately there are not enough constructive things for our teens to do after school or on weekends. Our goal is to keep every teen active and involved in their community. We have some great ideas but need your help to implement them. If you would like to be involved in our programs either with ideas or more importantly to volunteer please contact us.

School Outreach

The Discovery Bay Community Foundation collaborates with local schools to help develop and fund educational and developmental programs for Discovery Bay/ Byron children and their families. We welcome any new program ideas, suggestions, and volunteers from the community. For further information on how we can help provide for a specific need please contact us .

Teen and Youth Outreach Activities

Our Teen and Youth Outreach (TYOP) is being developed with our goal to empower teens who are at-risk with the tools and opportunities needed to avoid risky behaviors – like dropout and teen pregnancy – and become leaders with a powerful vision for their future. We are currently working with the Byron Union School District, Sheriff’s Department, DB Community Center and Brentwood PAL to help create afterschool programs for all those who need more constructive activities after school and on weekends.

Skateboard & Activities Park

A focus of many our fund raising efforts will be directed toward building a Skatepark for our kids. The DBCF has plans and costs in place, and has set up a fund specifically for this project. Your donations are needed are welcome.
